reunion kuno ng grade 6-faith ng JGSS batch 2001 kahapon. masaya naman kasi yung iba dun, huli ko pang nakita nung grade 4 ako, ilang taon na din un. hehe. masaya na sana talaga eh, pero dahil nga walang laman ang tiyan ko, at sumabak na ko sa inuman. ayun. masaya pdin naman. 2nd time sa buong drinking life ko. haha. grr

wala akong mapost na bago kasi parang hindi exciting ang buhay ko ngayon hehe. hindi pala parang, hindi talaga hehe. ayun. nung sat, nagpunta kami sa tarlac para sa debut ni audrey. anlayo. pero masaya naman. 18 roses ako nun, knakabahan talaga ako pag ganun. hindi pa naman ako dancer haha. mas masaya yun stay sa microtel inn after. di talaga ako n2log. kwentuhan lang wd ab chorale. zzz.

magiging busy na ang mga natitirang linggo ng bakasyon ko. bukas, may reunion/inuman kami ng aking mga elem classmates. first time nnman. let's see what happens. sa thurs, enrollment na at manunuod kami ng mr. bean ni helena. next wk, mon-fri ang rehearsals sa chorale, tas sat-mon after that, aattend kami ni nikki at dan ng leadership training seminar ng AB. tas june 12 na, tas pasukan na ng june 13. excited? sa sunday pala bibili na kami ng skul stuff. excited na ko dun. sana makabili ako ng masasaya at magagandang bagay.
nagblog hopping nnman ako knina. lahat ng blogs sa sidebar ko napuntahan ko na. well, hindi lahat hehe. naligaw ako sa isang blog at may napulot ako na kung ano.
ayan. ang weird kasi sa right hand ko, mas mahaba ung index finger kesa sa ring finger. pero sa left naman, mas mahaba ang ring finger ko kesa sa index finger. talk about taong hindi pantay ang kamay haha. nung bata ako, sa tingin ko mas NUMERATE ako kasi yun ung highest ko sa NEAT. 96 ako sa math at lowest ko ang english (82). pero ngayong college, sa tingin ko mas magaling na ko sa english kesa sa math hahaha. tingin ko lang un a.
wala lang. amboring eh. kumakain lang ako ngayon ng bread pan with ranch dressing. weird no?

kahapon, pumunta kami ni mama sa quiapo church para magbigay ng donation. panata ata nya kasi yun. at since malapit lang naman ang raon dun, naisipan kong tumingin ng tuning fork na matagal ko na din gs2 bilin. at pagkatapos namin tumingin, nakabili na ko! yehey! woeh.
wala lang, natutuwa lang ako dyan sa bagay na yan kaya ko binili. wag ka, kumikinang yan haha.
kahapon din ay pumunta kami sa greenhills para palitan ang ancient phone ng kapatid ko. 2nd yr HS pa kasi ako nung binili nya yun. kaya panahon na daw para ipamana nya saken yun. at dahil nga don, may bago na kong cellphone haha.

6 Weird Things About Me:
1. Photographic "ata" ang memory ko. (O assuming lang ako). Kasi yung mga suot ng tao, kahit 2 years ago or 3 years ago, naaalala ko pa. Tas hanggang ngayon, naaalala ko padin yung mga lugar na pinupuntahan namin nung bata pa ko, yung mga dati naming bahay. Ganun. Sana makatulong ito sa pagaaral kong magdrive. (Na hanggang ngayon ay hindi ko pa din alam kung itutuloy ko inde)
2. Adik ako sa chorale music. Minsan, lumilipas ang buong araw na nagiinternet lang ako dito sa bahay, at ang pinapakinggan ko lang ay puro vids at songs na pang chorale. As in yun lang. Minsan na lang ako makinig ngayon ng mga normal na kanta (i.e. pop, alternative, etc.)
3. Nagiging OC na ako, pero hindi achiever. Kasi nung pasukan pa, lahat gusto ko nakalista (assignments, schedule, pati yung mga kailangan bilin, mga thoughts, ganun, gusto ko nakasulat sa green SJA notebook ko, pag hindi nakalista, nababad3p ako), pero paguwi ko sa bahay, mga 10 or 11pm, kakain lang ako tas m22log na. Wala akong ginagawa sa listahan ko. Kaya certified crammer padin ako.
4. Hindi lang ako yung ganito, pero mas mahaba yung 2nd finger ng parehong paa ko kaysa sa toe. Nabasa ko na si Roch din, ganito. Sabi daw nung kaibigan nyang nursing, may tawag daw sa ganung condition. Hindi naman exagg na mahaba, mga tipong 0.5-1cm lang. hehe. Anu kayang tawag sa ganung condition? Abnormal ba ko? Haha. Check nyo din yung inyo.
5. Mahilig ako magbasa ng reviews about tech gadgets. Pag nagiinternet ako, halos isa yun sa kumakain ng oras ko. Gusto ko updated ako sa mga latest gadgets at cellphones. Kahit na alam kong hindi naman ako makakabili ng mga yun kaagad. Kasi hindi din naman ako rich kid. Kunwari yung SE w800i, nung lumabas un ng 2004 ata, nasa 27-30k pa. nakabili ako 2006 na haha, at nasa 12-13k na lang. Kelangan bumaba muna yung price kasi ako lang ang nagiipon para sa gadgets na gusto ko hehe. (Define Topic Sentence and Coherence??)
6. May nangyayaring kakaiba sakin pag naiintimidate ako sa mga tao or pag sobrang kinakabahan. Str8 body padin ako, pero sa loob loob ko, feeling ko nakukuba ako, tas prang napapalean forward ako na parang tutumba. Pero kung titignan, wala naman talagang nangyyre. Ano kayang medical condition yun? Haha. Psychological lang siguro

so update
current song: unusual way- ust singers
current mood: halos bagong gising
(galing sa multiply nila dan at coco ang mga picture. hehe, credit daw eh)
outing ng chorale nung saturday. overnight. sa bulacan. merryland resort. ok na ok hehehe. masaya kahit 12 lang kame. winner outing padin. hindi n2loy ung plan namin na canned goods lang ang kakainin kasi mayaman daw kami sabi ng conductor namen at nagbigay sya ng mdaming pera pambili ng liempo, porkchop, tilapia at pork. kaya naging fiesta ang outing namin at nagkaron ng adobo, beefsteak, sinigang at grilled tilapia and porkchop. wow. may drinks den hehe. ako ang nagtagay. syempre hindi ako nalasing hehe. kaya nga tanggero eh. nye. muntik nga pala ako malunod at one point hahaha. loser kse, antanda tanda na hindi pdin mrunong lumangoy haha.
mother's day pala kahapon. wala ako halos buong araw sa bahay dahil nga sa outing. pero binati ko naman mama ko. hindi nga lang kami ok. basta. matagal na kaming may tampuhan. nung isang araw last week, naghahanap ako ng stuff sa kwarto nila mama, tas may nakita ako dung mga love cards at msgs na binigay ko at namin nila papa at joel kay mama twing birthday nya at kapag mother's day.
yung 1st pic, 13 years ago na namin un binigay. 1994. tatlo pa kaming nagbigay nun hehe. happy family pa ata kasi kami nun. at kamusta naman ung english dun sa 2nd pic. grade 1 ata ako nyan. wrong spelling pa. patawarin na pls. batang bata palang ako bobo na ko sa english haha.
bakit kaya ganun, habang tumatanda tayo, mas humihirap na sabihin yung mga words of affection sa mga taong mahal natin. i mean, kahit nararamdaman natin, ang hirap iexpress. pero i think hindi sa lahat ng tao ganito ung case, kasi merong mga expressive dyan talaga. pero ako kasi, hindi. tulad nga sabi ko dati, actions speak louder than words. pero iba pdin pag sinabi mo talaga. iba ung impact. siguro dadating din ung time na magiging masaya na din ulit ang family namin, at hindi na magiging mahirap sabihin ung mga ganong bagay. sa ngayon siguro, memories na lang muna ung mga ganung bagay.

nagstar city pala kami kahapon. class outing yun pero 8 lang kameng nakapunta. may 50% off sa price ng ticket na nabili ng girls kasi si cristina may dalang limang voucher na kung ano. tas kme nila jerico at ted, regular price ung binayaran. andaya haha. joke.
ride-all-you-can ang binili namen. lahat sasakyan, bawal pumalag. pero may mga pumalag haha. sinakyan namen ung viking, ung carpet, ung blizzard, bumpcar, ung wildriver, ung roller coaster, saka ung ferris wheel. pinaka natakot ako dun sa ferris wheel. buti pa dun sa iba ayos lang eh, pero dun sa ferris wheel talaga, natakot ako. acrophobic kase ako hehe. eh ksama pa namen si joyce dun sa sinakyan namen, tas tumatayo pa, eh umuuga. katakot e haha. pati lahat nung mga kiddie rides sinakyan namen. ung wacky dragon at wacky worm na parehong mga kiddie roller coasters, na prehong preho lang naman ung galaw. magkaiba lang ng kulay. tas ung mga cartoon sh*t dun na lion king, hercules, peter pan, pati ung mga horror house. pero nakakatawa talaga dun yung snow white. sasakay lang kse sa train, tas ampf, wala pang 10 seconds tapos na ung ride haha. naikot na ung buong story, tawa tlaga ako ng tawa dun, eh umulit pa, dalawng ikot pala yun, eh baka kasi hindi naintindihan ung story, ah basta hehe. pumunta din kame dun sa ice palace sumtin, ung hercules, hindi kami ngsuot ng jacket, pede naman kse. anlakas pa ng loob namin, eh pagpasok dun, langya sobrang lamig, bumubuga kami ng smoke haha. pero hindi ung smoke na sigarilyo, ice smoke, prang ganun haha. e nakatsinelas lang ako, langya, anlamig haha. lahat din ng horror house dun, pinasukan namen, hindi naman nakakatakot, nakakatawa lang. gusto ko kse ung may tao pang nanghahabol, eh wala naman. kung gnun kse gs2 kong manapak haha. eh wala, puro machine lang. nakakatawa kase may nalalaglag na ulo, e pinagtripan ni jerico, ginawang boxing dummy, tas nahuli kame nung staff, napagalitan pa. tas ung sa isang horror house naman, may lumilipad na white lady, tas may nakalawit na damit na puti, hinila namen, napunit haha. natatawa ako dun eh.
nung 12 na, literal na namatay bigla yung ilaw sa star city, tas pinalabas na kme. ok naman. star city is fun. pwede na, kahit bulok na ung mga rides haha.
naglakad kame from ccp complex to baywalk. dun kme nagdinner. anlayo ng nilakad namen. tas nakakain din kme hehe, dun sa isang grill dun na may live band. kumain ako ng sisig. favorite hehe. tas ung live band, nagtatawag sa audience ng mga kakanta, eh may mga grupo dun ng pulis, kumanta sa stage. ampf, skandalo eh. tawa lang kame ng tawa. ayaw pang paawat, tas may babae dun, di naman kagalingan, naka apat na kanta pa haha. sbe dapat daw may talent fee pa sya. eh, haha. asa pa. tas ung mga japayuking emcee dun, naka tiger print 2 piece pa haha. walangya, umaayat pa dun sa ledge para magsayaw, nagiging sitcom tuloy ung live band nila haha.
wala lang. ayun ang nangyre sa outing namen. sana next time mdaming sumama, beach naman. oh yeah haha.

One of the things that strike me as being very "UP Diliman" is the way UPD students can't seem to stay on the pavement. From every street corner that bounds an unpaved piece of land, one will espy a narrow trail that cuts the corner, or leads from it. Every lawn around the buildings sports at least one of these paths, starting from a point nearest to the IKOT stop and ending at the nearest entry to the building. The trails are beaten on the grass by many pairs of feet wanting to save a fraction of a meter of traveling, no matter that doing so will exact some cost to the shoes, or, to the ubiquitous slippers, especially when the trails are new.
What do these paths say about us, UP students?
One could say that the UP student is enamored with Mathematics and Pythagoras, hence these triangles formed by the pavement and the path. Many among you would disagree.
Others could say that the UP student is naturally countercultural. And the refusal to use the pavement is just one of the myriads of ways to show his defiance of the order of things. This time, many would agree.
Still, others will say that the UP student is the model of today's youth: they want everything easier, faster, now. The walkable paths appeal to them because they get to their destination faster, and presumably, with less effort. Now that is only partly true, and totally unfair.
These trails weren't always walkable. No doubt they started as patches of grass, perhaps overgrown. Those who first walked them must have soiled their shoes, stubbed their toes, or had insects biting their legs, all in the immovable belief that the nearest distance between two points is a straight line. They might even have seen snakes cross their paths. But the soiled footwear, sore toes, and itchy legs started to conquer the grass. Other people, seeing the yet faint trail, followed. And as more and more walked the path, the grass gave in and stopped growing altogether, making the path more and more visible, more and more walkable.
The persistence of the paths pays tribute to those UP students who walked them first – the pioneers of the unbeaten tracks: the defiant and curious few who refuse the familiar and comfortable; the out-of-the-box thinkers who solve problems instead of fretting about them; the brave who dare do things differently, and open new opportunities to those who follow.
They say how one behaved in the past would determine how he behaves in the future. And as we leave the University, temporarily or for good, let us call on the pioneering, defiant, and brave spirit that built the paths to guide us in this next phase of our life.
We have been warned time and again. Our new world that they call "adulthood" is one that's full of compromises, where success is determined more by the ability to belong than by the ability to think, where it is much easier to do as everyone else does. Daily we are bombarded with so much news of despair about the state of our nation, and the apparent, perverse sense of satisfaction our politicians get from vilifying our state of affairs. It is fashionable to migrate to other countries to work in deceptively high-paying jobs like nursing and teaching, forgetting that even at their favored work destinations, nurses and teachers are some of the lowest paid professionals. The lure of high and immediate monetary benefits in some low-end outsourcing jobs has drawn even some of the brightest UP students away from both industry and university teaching to which they would have been better suited.
Like the sidewalks and pavement, these paths are the easiest to take.
But, like the sidewalks and pavement, these paths take longer to traverse, just as individual successes do not always make for national progress. The unceasing critic could get elected, but not get the job done. The immigrant could get his visa, but disappear from our brainpower pool. The highly paid employee would be underutilized for his skills, and pine to get the job he truly wants, but is now out of his reach. And the country, and we, are poorer because of these.
Today, the nation needs brave, defiant pioneers to reverse our nation's slide to despair. Today, we must call upon the spirit that beat the tracks. Today, we must present an alternative way of doing things.
Do NOT just take courage, for courage is not enough. Instead, be BRAVE! It will take bravery to go against popular wisdom, against the clichéd expectations of family and friends. It will take bravery to gamble your future by staying in the country and try to make a prosperous life here. It might help if for a start, we try to see why our Korean friends are flocking to our country. Why, as many of us line up for immigrant visas in various embassies, they get themselves naturalized and settle here. Do they know something we don't?
Do NOT just be strong in your convictions, for strength is not enough. Instead, DEFY the pressure to lead a comfortable, but middling life. Let us lead this country from the despair of mediocrity. Let us not seek to do well, but strive to EXCEL in everything that we do. This, so others will see us as a nation of brains of the highest quality, not just of brawn that could be had for cheap.
Take NOT the road less traveled. Rather, MAKE new roads, BLAZE new trails, FIND new routes to your dreams. Unlike the track-beaters in campus who see where they're going, we may not know how far we can go. But if we are brave, defiant searchers of excellence, we will go far. Explore possibilities, that others may get a similar chance. I have tried it myself. And I'm speaking to you now.
But talk is cheap, they say. And so I put my money where my mouth is. Today, I place myself in the service of the University, if it will have me. I would like to teach, to share knowledge, and perhaps to be an example to new UP students in thinking and striving beyond the limits of the possible. This may only be a small disturbance in the grass. But I hope you'll come with me, and trample a new path.

bad news

may 2, birthday ni helena. last week pa kame ngplano ng surprise para sa kanya. at dahil ng crammer ako, days before ko lang kinumpleto yung details at mga kelangan, nakaka stress. pero worth it dahil nasurprise naman ata sya. buti na lang sumama si don at si iana. mas masaya. salamat sa lahat ng nakigulo nung araw na un. saka sa tumulong maghanda. saka sa mga kakonchaba hehe. uso ngayong summer ang mga surprise bday party. bakit kaya? hehe. siguro dahil 20yo na sila haha. piz.
nung kumain kami sa shakey's nung may 2, eh medyo wala na kong magawa nun, kinatok katok ko na lang ung lamesa. pero di naman gano malakas. nsa tapat ako nun ng pizza stand. ung pang elevate ng pizza. basta hehe. tas dahil sa pag-uga ng mesa dahil nga dun sa ginagawa ko, ngslide yung pan ng pizza, tinamaan ung baso ng iced tea at tumapon yung iced tea sa plato ni ted na may lamang pizza. wala lang. nahiya ako nun. ang careless ko. pero kumuha na lang sya ng bagong plato at kumain ulit hehe. sya na lang kasi kumakain nun. buti walang nabasa hehe.
nung labor day pala, nakatanggap ako ng text mula kay chinky (isang kaibigan, kklase at co-writer ko nung highschool.) tungkol yun sa isa kong katropa, kaibigan at co-writer din nung HS, si jefferson songco. eh unusual, ksi hindi naman mdalas nagttxt yung si chinky. tinanong ko, "bad news ba?". sagot nya, higit pdw sa bad news. patay na daw si jeff. nilibing daw last sunday sa golden haven, at nagpplano daw ung batch namen dumalaw sa may 9. ewan. ang creepy. may 9 din kase ung pinaplanong lakad ng tropa namen ksama sya. hindi ako makapaniwala. parang natatawa ako na ewan nung nabasa ko yun. hindi ko maabsorb haha. imposible kase. medyo mahirap kasing humagilap ng balita dun sa taong yun. hindi na kasi nagaaral (personal na dahilan), kaya nagwork na lang sa alabang (call center agent). minsan na lang namin un makasama. pero kahit ganun, isa paden un sa mga kaibigan kong tinuturi.
ngimbestiga ung mga kklase ko, chineck yung friendster, 6 days ago daw ung last login. d bale kung ganun nga, wednesday last week sya huling nagfriendster. so kinabuksan nun, namatay na sya. binurol nung friday-saturday at nilibing nung linggo. ganun ba un? tinanong nila chinky yung mga nakatira malapit sa kanila, wala naman nababalitaan. at prang imposible nga namang walang makaalam kahit isa sa batch namen. napagalaman nilang si andrew sobrevinas daw yung nagkakalat nung balita. isang batchmate namen. ewan. may sira ata sa ulo ung ungas na un eh. kanina lang, napatunayan na ata nila na hindi totoo yung balita.
pero hanggang ngayon, ewan ko pden kung sino sa kanila ang nagsasabi ng totoo. parang panget kung malalaman kong isang malaking joke lang pala to. sana mamatay na lang ung nagkakalat nung maling balita kung ganun man. mas masaya siguro un haha.
